No hay nada tan bonito como una sonrisa. La sonrisa es una de las expresiones faciales que más sentimientos pueden llegar a transmitir. Cuando vemos sonreír a nuestra pareja o a nuestros hijos estamos cerca de lo que significa la verdadera felicidad, pues a veces eso es lo único que necesitamos para alcanzarla.
Solemos considerar que las personas que sonríen a menudo son más simpáticas, amistosas y atractivas. Pero una sonrisa no siempre transmite alegría y satisfacción, sino que puede llegar a ser mucho mas compleja de lo que nos imaginamos. Existen 19 diferentes tipos de sonrisa, pero solo 6 indican felicidad, diversión, alegría y satisfacción. El resto son un reflejo de otras emociones y sentimientos, desde dolor e incomodidad hasta vergüenza, horror o profunda tristeza. Una sonrisa también puede indicar desprecio, ira o incredulidad.
Para ser un poco más conscientes de sus posibles significados, vamos a analizar algunos de los diferentes tipos de sonrisa que conocemos:
Sonrisa Duchenne
Su nombre hace referencia a su descubridor, el neurólogo francés Guillaume Duchenne en el siglo XIX y se produce debido a una contracción de los músculos cigomático mayor y menor cerca de la boca, los cuales hace que los labios se eleven. Lo que hace peculiar esta sonrisa es la contracción del músculo orbicular, que eleva las mejillas y crea esas típicas arrugas de felicidad alrededor de los ojos. Es reconocida como una sonrisa genuina no fingida, pues es complicado contraer voluntariamente el músculo orbicular.
La sonrisa falsa
La sonrisa falsaEs la que utilizamos para las fotos o cuando reímos una broma que no nos hace gracia. En esta sonrisa no participan los ojos, y es lo que nos ayuda a diferenciarla. Las comisuras de la boca se elevan, pero los ojos no siguen el movimiento correspondiente. Otras maneras de reconocerla es darnos cuenta de que suele durar demasiado tiempo o suelen ser de manera precipitada, dando la sensación de que es una sonrisa artificial fuera de tiempo.
La sonrisa de miedo
Una sonrisa que se relaciona con los chimpancés. Si, has leído bien. Son quienes sonríen de manera silenciosa para indicar miedo, sumisión y nerviosismo. Normalmente no solemos asociar la sonrisa con el miedo, no obstante es conocido que los bebés también sonríen cuando se sienten angustiados. Esta sonrisa también es frecuente cuando nos situamos delante de personas que consideramos de un «estatus superior».
Sonrisa abierta
A pesar de que es una sonrisa amplia y abierta, en este tipo de risa intervienen solo los labios, el resto de la cara apenas cambia. Es un tipo de sonrisa que es muy frecuente en personas que realizan trabajos de atención al cliente, como camareros o recepcionistas. En resumen, se trata de una sonrisa amable que no influye directamente en la mayor parte de la cara, sino exclusivamente en la boca y los labios.
Sonrisa labios cerrados
Es ese tipo de risa que aparece cuando estás pensando en tus cosas y te acuerdas de algo gracioso. Pero también es una sonrisa típica de niños y políticos. Eso no quiere decir que sea una sonrisa falsa, pero alberga gran cantidad de misterio en ella. Cuando alguien sonríe de esta manera, puede significar que oculta algún secreto y no quiere compartirlo contigo. Es una sonrisa un tanto «misteriosa».
La sonrisa sarcástica
La sonrisa sarcásticaTambién conocida como sonrisa irónica, este tipo de sonrisa quiere parecer honesta cuando en realidad no lo es. Es utilizada cuando estás soportando a alguien y en realidad piensas, «déjame en paz ya por favor», pero la mantienes por parecer cortés. Los músculos de la cara se mueven ligeramente, al igual que los labios, pero aun así, es falso.
La sonrisa maliciosa
Es una sonrisa cruel, pues se produce cuando alguien se alegra por la desgracia de otro. Por razones obvias, hemos aprendido a ocultar esta emoción a los demás, aunque no siempre es fácil esconderla. Lo más usual es plasmar una expresión de enojo por parte superior de los labios que produce una sonrisa fija, casi espeluznante, la cual se ha convertido en un elemento básico de los personajes malvados en las películas de terror.
Hay sonrisas que enamoran, y hay otras que irritan… Otras que te producen tremenda felicidad y algunas que no sabes como interpretarlas. Pero casi todas ellas tienen algo en común, pues detrás de tu sonrisa se encuentran tus dientes. Así que ya sabes, cuida tus dientes y nunca dejes de sonreír.
